Summary: When you need to go somewhere that isn't too far, ride your bicycle there

Author's statement:
Anytime you can avoid driving your car, it helps
the environment. Automobiles are the biggest
cause of the greenhouse effect, which is
threatening our planet. While there is
little choice about the mode of transportation
used for many of our trips and errands, there
are a great many car trips taken each day that
are less than 2 miles.

A simple way to help reduce the greenhouse effect
is to ride your bicycle on these short trips. In
addition to helping the environment, you will
be helping yourself to live longer by getting
excersize and spending some time out of doors.

After you've done it a few times, you'll realize
that it is actually fun and even more convenient
to take your bike because you won't have to deal
with parking.
