Summary: Leaves, yard clippings and kitchen scraps can be composted, reducing landfill glut, and producing, rich organic gardening fertilizer.

Author's statement:
Households produce an enormous amount of trash that is
transported to landfills or incineration systems. With
consumerism on the upswing and residential waste cramming
landfills faster than we can find neighborhoods that want
them, anything that can reduce household trash production is
a boon to the health of the environment.
Waste incineration produces harmful air pollution,
creating acid rain; composting the waste one produces reduces
this.
When one composts one's biodegradable kitchen and yard
scraps, one produces rich organic fertilizer for gardening
or yard maintenance.
