Summary: A great way to help alleviate the landfill problem is to compost your left over food.

Author's statement:
Food makes for a large portion of the garbage that is
filling up our landfills. This is a shame because
it is actually easier to compost leftover food
instead of putting it in the garbage. Composting
allows the food to return to the earth quickly
and it makes great soil for growing new food
or anything else in your garden. It even
helps ph balance your soil. So, start composting
today!
