Summary: Drinking only organic milk from cows that are not mistreated is mortally acceptable, and healthy for most people.
Dairy products are the best food sources of calcium. Not everyone wants to be a vegan.

Author's statement:
Comsuming organic milk and dairy products from cows that are not
mistreated, is mortally acceptable, and healthy for most people.
Dairy products are the best food sources of calcium. The calcium
from some of the other food sources is unavailable, because they
contain oleic acid, which hinders the absorption of calcium.
It is not realistic to expect everyone to become a vegan. I
think that it is an unbalanced way of eating, and that it is
both unnecessary, and to me, undesirable. I was a lacto-ovo
vegetarian for several years, and during that time, I developed
some chronic health problems. If I could go back in time, I
would not become any kind of vegetarian. I would just eat less
meat, and try to eat only food that is organic, or at least all
natural and hormone-free.
Also, breast-feeding a 4 or 5 year old child is unusual, but not
disturbing to someone who is open-minded, and understands the
benefits of breast-feeding a child for a longer period of time.
Ask The La Leche League. I breast-fed my son until he was 4 1/2,
and he is a very intelligent, responsible adult, who has never
had a weight problem. Breast milk builds brain cells, and
breast-feeding helps to build a close bond between mother
and child. And, just to let you know, my son told me he does
not remember breast-feeding.
