Summary: Cigarettes are extremely harmful to smokers and those around them. They are intentionaly addictive and pollute cradle-to- grave. Smoking fewer cigarettes is beneficial to other people and ourselves.

Author's statement:
Tobacco companies testified before congress that they
had no knowledge or evidence that nicotine is addictive.
It was shown that they had suppressed an enormous amount
of evidence proving not only that they knew it is addictive,
but that they worked to increase the amount of nicotine in
cigarettes and the potency of the nicotine itself. 	

Besides being addictive, it is very unhealthy. Many fatal
diseases, including lung cancer and emphyszema, are
attributed to smoking. It is so dangerous,
in fact, that the Surgeon General of the United States requires 
explicit warnings on cigarette packs. It has also been proven
that second hand smoke can be fatally harmful to others.

Tobacco production is environmentally damaging and 
cigarette butts pollute. Cigarettes are hazardous to nature
cradle-to-grave.  Kick the habit!
