Summary: Moving is a cathartic labor intensive process. Often, the aid of extra person-power and/or a larger vehicle is necessary.

Author's statement:
The person with the truck or van always gets the call, a
friend needs help moving their stuff to new digs. It seems to
be a responsibility that comes with owning a beast of burden
type vehicle. The question is, are you going to help?
Moving one's home from one location to another is a
process of packaging, transporting and unpackaging. Taking
things off of the shelf and boxing them up can be cathartic
emotionally, because "home" is reduced to a bunch of stuff
needing packing tape and labels. One looks at one's stuff
differently on moving day, things that have been hidden away
forever are brought out into view and scrutinized for value
and validity one by dusty one. Once this materialistic and
memorial purging is complete, one must physically transport
these heavy and unwieldy objects.
	Got Help?
A person knows other people, these people move homes
once in awhile and they may not be able to carry that pool
table by themselves. Sometimes they don't need to ask for
help because someone has already volunteered the services of
their van and hand-truck too. One asks a person one feels
comfortable with, one's stuff is on display after all.
Because of family or relationship ties, one may be
expected to help but usually there is a choice; to help or
not help. The willingness to help is selfless. Experience the
joy of helping and feeling really appreciated, maybe one
day, when it is time for us to move, we'll have help too.
It is easy to not help, carrying a sofa up a flight of
stairs, through a tight hallway and a tighter doorway is
not as fun as it sounds. Hiding in a cardboard box may be
more enjoyable.
The person who helps another move is a good human.
