0 points - I keep the thermostat up high at all times, my personal comfort requires extreme energy wasting thermostat settings. 5 points - I only ajust my thermostat when seasons change. 25 points - I rarely adjust my thermostat.
50 points - I adjust the thermostat when temperatures are extreme, otherwise I don't touch it much. 75 points - I keep my thermostat turned off when I'm away from home but when at home I set it and leave it. 100 points - I turn off my thermostat when I leave the house, adjusting it while I'm at home.

Summary: Not overheating or overcooling rooms by monitoring your heater/air conditioner thermostat by turning it off when not needed, saves an enormous amount of energy.

Author's statement:
For each 2 degrees of adustment, there is a Carbon dioxide
reduction of about 500 pounds a year.
