Summary: A fuel efficient car is not only easier on the pocket book, it is easier on the ozone and our limited fossil fuels too. *

Author's statement:
Considering the millions of years it takes for the
earth to reduce organic matter into the gooey richness
required by today's driver, the automobile, with its internal
combustion engine, is a horribly inefficient way to transport
ourselves and our stuff.
The effect of the automobile on the earth would be less
profound were it only limited to the looting of underground
tombs of fossil fuels, cars steal from the future as well.
The exhaust emissions produced by the burning process, is a
harmful pollutant which contributes to the degradation of the
the ozone layer, which filters harmful UV rays entering our
atmosphere.
In this culture, the easiest and most individually
efficient way to locomote ourselves overland is by
automobiles with internal combustion engines. This practice
requires the purchase and burning of fossil fuels, producing
exhaust emissions. The cost of fuel and the amount of exhaust
produced, can be affected by the car one chooses to drive. A
smaller engine needs less fuel and produces lower emissions,
while making travel less costly. Cars with high miles per
gallon ratings (mpg) have optimum fuel efficiency and exhaust
emissions.
Driving a more fuel efficient car is easier on the
pocket book as well as the ozone layer and our precious fuel
reserves.
