Your spirits will soar and your life will be enriched
The World Breast Cancer Organization is proud to announce that the 4th World Conference on Breast Cancer will take place June 8-12, 2005 in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
The Mind
The Body
Approximately 1,000 people from more than 60 countries will unite in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, on June 8-12, 2005, connecting communities and cultures from around the world, so that no one has to feel alone in their battle against breast cancer.
The Heart
When our guests arrive at the conference we want them to feel as cared for and comfortable as possible.
Six individual conference rooms will welcome six different regions of the world, creating familiar surroundings and offering hospitality to all. Participants will meet people from the area of the world in which they live, as well as meet participants from other regions.
The Soul
The Conference will open with an overview of the issues that affect women with breast cancer around the world. These issues will be picked up and discussed again through the central themes of the conference.
A Living Wall will be available for all participants and presenters to post their concerns and questions. Breakfast Open Spaces will provide an opportunity to discuss these issues the following morning.
Communities: A Central Theme
The 4th World Conference on Breast Cancer welcomes communities of survivors, their families and friends, as well as communities of health care and research that connect women with breast cancer to knowledge and hope.
Special Days
The themes of community, culture and connection will be developed through these special days:
The Spirit of Hope. Aboriginal women from Canada and the United States will host this day, for women around the world.
Remembering, Supporting and Celebrating Life. Will cover broad topics that affect partners, children, other members of the support team, and look at creative ways to live well after breast cancer.
The Conference Speaks. The final day will showcase what participants have learned and shared, and how they have been empowered, with discussion, media, art, music, and religious observances.
