The Last Days of John F. Kennedy Jr.
Born shortly after his father entered the White House, John F. Kennedy Jr. was the crowned prince of JFK's Camelot. But this adorable boy knew tragedy early: His father was assassinated in 1963, as was his uncle Bobby in 1968. Aristotle Onassis, his stepfather, died of cancer in 1975. But Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis made sure her son didn't let the tragedies ruin his life.

Although Jackie wanted her son to become a politician, he resisted. Following his mother's death in 1994, he quit practicing law to launch the political magazine George. Then in 1996, he broke hearts around the world when he married Carolyn Bessette, a publicist for Calvin Klein. In July 1999, John, his wife and sister-in-law were flying to Martha's Vineyard when their plane disappeared over the Atlantic Ocean. Five days after the plane went down, the Coast Guard found the aircraft and its passengers at the bottom of the ocean. Once again, the nation grieved for the Kennedy family and the loss of their prince.
