I voted against this guideline because it can be very dangerous
to pick up a hitchhiker. Many women and men are raped, robbed and
beaten because they picked up the wrong hitchhiker. If you must
give a ride to a stranger, make sure you have protection such as
another passenger or dogs. It would be a wonderful worlds if we
could all trust strangers, but putting yourself in a potentially
deadly situation is foolish.
