With respect to gays being treated equally, perhaps
Rev. Jackson is taking into account the fact
that the bible was written by a *human being*
1600 years ago and 400 years after the death
of Jesus.

It is pretty likely that things have gotten
changed/confused in the translation. It is
also likely that stories got mixed up in between
the time when the events occurred and when
they were written down 400 years later.

Have you ever played 'telephone' where you start a
message at one side of the room and 'pass it on'
and it always ends up that the message at the
other side of the room
is completely different?

Fundamentalists who cling to the exact words of the bible
are really clinging to the words of 'some dude who
translated the bible to english'.

Rev. Jackson should be applauded for going beyond
the 'word' of the bible and clinging to the meaning
of the the bible which says "love everybody". This
includes gays.
