I just wanted to respond to one of Adam's arguments
because it is something I used to believe as well. Adam
makes the argument that eating vegetables is just as cruel
as eating animals because vegetables are every bit as
alive as animals. This is true.

The problem with this argument is that if you really
believe that vegetables are as alive as animals and you
really want to 'save the vegetables', then the best
way to do this is to become a vegetarian.

This is because the vegetables die anyway. In order
to 'grow' a cow, many vegetables are 'cruelly murdered'.
In fact many many more vegetables die in creating the
meat you eat than would need to die if the raising of
the cow was bypassed and we ate the vegetables directly.

So, if Adam is truly concerned with all life, including
vegetables, then he should realize how inefficient it is
to eat meat. The best way for him to 'save the vegetables'
is to become a vegetarian.
