Mr Levi,
Thanks for you message in support fo the Jerry Lewis Telethon. My first involvement with MDA dates back to 1968 as a youth volunteer. I am impressed at your devotion and commitment. However I must give credit where credit is due. The Dance for those that Can't was first run at the State University of New York at Fredonia in February of 1972. It was a 19 hour marathon. The next year it expanded to 48 and the name and the concept was picked up at the University of Maryland and the University of Illinois. But clearly, Fredonia was the first and the originator of the name. I'm not sure what your role of "producer" involved but it had no connection with the start of the project. This event has now been running for over 34 years. I take great pride in my role as it's creator. I would love to know how much this event has raised over the years. Thank you for your service to Jerry's kids.
