New York Metro McDonald's Restaurants Celebrating with a "Birthday Special"
for Customers -- On April 15, Buy a Cheeseburger for Only 50 Cents!

NEW YORK, -- April 15, 2005, marks the golden
anniversary of the Golden Arches(R) as McDonald's(R) turns 50. In celebration
of the anniversary, local McDonald's restaurants throughout the New York
Tri-State area are pushing back the clock and offering customers its
world-famous cheeseburgers at prices that haven't been seen in decades. For
one day only, on April 15th, customers that come into local participating
McDonald's restaurants and say "Happy Birthday, McDonald's" can order a
cheeseburger for only 50 cents.
The April 15th celebration, dubbed the "McDonald's 50th Birthday Special"
will last for one day only during hours when the regular lunch and dinner menu
is served at McDonald's. Customers are limited to one 50-cent cheeseburger
per visit.
"We are excited to share this memorable milestone with our customers,"
said Paul Cottrell, president of the New York Tri-State Area Owners and
Operators Association. "A lot has changed since 1955, but what remains
constant is McDonald's commitment to our guests and the communities we serve."
Ray Kroc opened his first McDonald's(R) restaurant on April 15, 1955, in
Des Plaines, Ill. Founded on the motto of quality, service and cleanliness,
the burger stand sold 15-cent hamburgers and offered friendly service to
families in the Chicago suburb.
Today, the now world-famous McDonald's hamburgers, signature service and
Golden Arches are available at more than 30,000 restaurants worldwide, in more
than 119 countries and in more than 13,500 communities across the United
States.
