I buy rechargeable batteries. I think they're great, but why aren't there more solar-powered small appliances available for consumers. The technology is there and I believe the market is there. I did a search on the internet and aside from large systems to convert your home's energy type, I only found one solar-powered product (aside from calculators) for general consumer use. They were AM/FM headphones with a built in battery that was charged by sunlight and operated up to 20 hours once charged (rechargeable by sunlight). I would love to hear if others know about other products available out there or comments on why we aren't doing more to push for similar products. I live in an apartment, so obviously can't convert my electric system, but would love to spend money on other solar-powered items that would encourage development of these types of products. Thanks. flankadank@hotmail.com
