rad, Your guideline reminded me of one I saw a few weeks ago
called, 'Don't patronize events that exploit animals' by pburkind.
pburkind's guideline was very general. It listed many types of
events featuring performing or competing animals such as
circuses, rodeos, horse and dog races, zoos, bullfights and
marine parks. Your's is nicely focused on circuses.
The thing I liked so much about pburkind's was the question,
"Would you want to live in a cage and perform for people... ?"
What I like about your's is the line that sums up how our
behavior can effect things, "Avoiding the circus will help to
free these animals."
One thing I would change is the huge gap of disparity
between:
0 pt. I own a circus and beat the animals.
25 pt. I only go to the circus once a year.
A possible 5 pt. option might be 'I love the circus despite the
animal cruelty' or 'I don't believe the animals in the circus are
mistreated.
Otherwise, the guideline is great.
