Hello Remy; I must say "You are a VERY talented poetry writer!" I also write poetry as You may know; and from my view of Your writings; it is apparent that not only is Your poetry very well written; but You also use lots of imagination to get Your words across, about such a tragic event in our Jewish history. I have no doubt; that Your Mom must be, so incredibly proud of You. Thank You for sharing these two wonderful poems and I will always look forward to receiving more. By the way; I shall publish these on AOL and the worldwide web. I will also forward them to Rabbi Meyer at the Simon Wiesenthal Center Museum of Tolerance & Learning Center in Beverly Hills - A comprehensive resource on the Holocaust and World War II...
Again, congratulations and well done; Remy! Your Friend; Respectfully; David Harrison Levi .. Beverly Hills, California 90210 USA

"I wrote my first poem because I had strong feelings about the holocaust. To me the poem was a way to tell people what I really thought. Many people were affected by the holocaust and this poem should reach everyone. These are my original thoughts and this is my view on what happened.

The Shower by Remy Turner

But little could he actually see
Left right left right, he was sent to the right
He had not showered in weeks but finally he might
He did not listen to those deafening screams
He was used to them and they were no more obscene
Well if it was me I would all ready be dead
Probably shot by a piece of their lead
I would have wanted to fight
that is what I knew to be right
Well he was not lucky like me
He, well, he just could not see
They made him take a shower
That took all of his power
And after that poor man died
His body was sadly fried
That was his end
And was the same for his best friend
All this man was guilty of was being Jewish or gay or black
And their excuse was that they were keeping the Aryan race on track

For my second poem I wrote about authority. Many people think that you must respect and listen to your elders. I think that elders try to put too much of a hold on to my freedom. I think that I deserve more freedom. Here is my second poem.

Authority by Remy Turner

Freedom is such a big word
It means so many things that is pretty much absurd
With it comes responsibility and power as well
Am I not ready for that? I mean what are you trying to sell
Just wait a few more years till you can make some good decisions
And if I wait that long are there any provisions?
Well adults are the authority, the ones who teach you right from wrong
Ok, but why must I wait so long?
You are still young and have a impressionable mind
So what are you trying to find?

will be

No you are still you and will all ways be you
Why do I feel like you are not being true?
You will feel like that a lot and I can understand
