Since I don't read the newspaper except for the Business and Sports Sections, I never followed the Ridgeway case in detail. Lord knows there was a lot of ink used in the local rags. Maybe Mef ran across some of his bio that may have been revealed about his life. Whatever it was, it can lead to a REASON why he did his deeds, but NOT an EXCUSE! I believe and hope we still have hanging as a form of execution. Don't think Life in Prison should be an option in cases of violent crime whether or not the victim is killed. Just DO 'em! Take the SOB's out behind the barn and string 'em up or just shoot the bastards. Better yet, let the victim/relatives pick the form of punishment. They should have the option of carrying out the punishment themselves if they feel up to it. We're WAY too kind to criminals.......and they know it. Nothing remotely close to what they did happens to them. They get housing, medical, dental, three squares, TV, computers, books, recreation/excersize, heating and airconditioning.......FREE! AND they don't have to pay taxes, let alone really having to pay for their crime(s)!
