I think Trefan, that the answer you're looking for is 'all the
same peaceniks who are protesting against the war now.'
Amnesty International amongst others.
Respect to America, it's England I love, for all it's faults
and with all it's crazy lunatics, because I'm English, but
that doesn't mean lack of respect to US.
BUT, a true friend isn't just someone who tells you what you
want to hear all the time, they're either brown nosers or con-
artists.
SO, don't think that September 11 happened out of nowhere,
don't say you love freedom and boast about how you trashed
Vietnam to remove their right to their freedom to have their
own economic system, even if it isn't one you'd have had
yourself. Now OK Vietnams system may not have been
democratically chosen, Russia's certainly wasn't, but there's
certain central and south American countries where communism
was democratically chosen, until the democracy got trashed by
the CIA. I'm afraid capitalism isn't everybodies choice. Ok
it's yours, fair play, be capitalist and good luck to you.
But to say to the rest of the world, yes you can have your own
opinion as long as you do what I tell you to, is hardly a sign
of a love of freedom. A love of your own freedom perhaps, I
think everyone on the planet has that love, even if they don't
have the freedom, but a love of freedom as an ideal?
Don't talk of yourself as 'home of the brave' when half of you
were to scared to get on an airplane.
I'm sorry to sound harsh, but I think you ought to hear this.
Please don't think I'm just trying to have a cheap pop at US
because I'm not. As a whole you're a big hearted all round
great bunch of folks, I think US is a great place from what
I've seen, and probably one of the best places in the world to
live (apart from England of course!) You've also given the
world a lot of good things (I believe you were the first place
to give women the vote weren't you?) and so once again full
respect.
