I agree that using protection is not fun. However, unless all partners have been tested for sexually transmitted diseases, such as AIDS or herpes, protection is necessary. Moreover, if male and female lovers are very young and not ready to reproduce or if the lovers do not want to reproduce because of over-population concerns, then protection is vital to reduce the risk of an unwanted pregnancy.
